Team winning would always be in support of powerplays when they end up on the winning side. Whilst, the team on the bowling front ends up suffering due to field restrictions which is just 3 players.

Good to bring in innovations but at what cost, it is always batsman in a good situation making full use of it. Only 3 players manning the boundaries and the batsman given the license just to go above the inner ring of fielders.

Baller has to be very fast with toe hitting yorkers else you cannot control the hitters. Today, even the tailender can come in and lift the ball above the 30 yards circle and escapes with a boundary with no fielders found outside the circle.

Moreover, nowadays we have all the bowlers in the range of 130-140 kph which is not enough speed to make batsman falter.

With only 3 fielders around, Batsman has enough time to think and hit it wherever he likes. It is truely killing the baller. This is not cricket. What area would he bowl, Take for instance the length he would bowl a batsman :

1. Yorker - Batsman can step forward and take it on the full.
2. ShortPitch - Has plenty of time to pull it around.
3. Straight - Can take room and hit it inside out. Remember, you cannot bowl him on his pads because the bowler fears of the bowl being declared wide in case, it misses the batsman’s pad.
4. Leg Stump - Can get easily be declared a wide.
5. Full - Cannot bowl full because any half volley or overpitched balls will be hit for boundaries.

Only, the team bowling has an advantage if the opposite team does not have good hitters else it looks like hapless game. Nowadays, every player is a good hitter so where does the baller stand. It is only one-sided, heavily loaded towards batsman.

So, do you think powerplay should go on. Do you think that we should have 4 fielders outside the 30 yard circle instead of 3.

The team which is chasing down the totals can go and score at will any amount of runs ranging from 70-100 runs. It is very difficult to set a field especially if the powerplays are at dearth.
